Our mission is to proclaim the gospel of our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ to the hurting, to the bound, to the confused and to the lost. Therefore, we have four mandates to accomplish.
Our first mandate, is to get the family back to church. The lost liar would have one to believe that the church is not important for the physical health, spiritual health and overall safety of their family. Their classic statement is; “Everybody in the church isn’t saved and there is a bunch of hypocrites in the church.”
Well, Duh! Jesus said; “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”(Matthew 18:11) Jesus also said; “They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.” (Luke 5:31) So you see the unsaved and the hypocrites, along with every other sin between the letters of A and Z should be in church. For 12 years we send our children to school to get a high school diploma, then we send them to a University for 4 to 8 more years to get a degree, yet they don’t spend 8 minutes a day getting to know Jesus. There are 24 hours a day, 7 days in a week, which equals 168 hours. If you take 4 hours out of that week for church, it leaves you with 164 hours to do…what-ever. The mental institutions, the hospitals, the homeless shelters and the jails are being filled up with our families. Can you honestly look at your family and say that they don’t need Church?
Our second mandate is to make the church relevant to the Community again. Our communities are in shambles. Some people are struggling to eat and keep a roof over their heads. Others have fast fancy cars, large beautiful homes and the latest technology to organize the load of their days. Fear and despair torments them all.
People hide out behind the walls of their homes. Hiding in fear and drowning in despair, in the shadows of well fenced yards. There are others that run from theme park to theme park looking for joy. Then there are those chained by alcohol and drugs, looking for peace.
Rhema Harvest Ministries offers hope and help by lifting up the wonderful Counselor Jesus, in order for the Community to see him. Jesus said; “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” (John 12:32) He said; Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28).
Jesus also said; “…and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The Psalmist David said; “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings.”(Psalm 61:1)
So you see, we understand that to the uttermost Jesus saves. Therefore, Rhema Harvest Ministries will make the church relevant to the again Community again by lowering itself in humility and lifting the powerful name of Jesus.
Our third mandate is to win our City. You can never stop the crimes that are being committed in a City with money, material things or the threat of prison. If you give some robbers five dollars, they will take those five that you gave them and then rob you of the rest of your money.
Some weak burglars, if you feed them, you will make them strong enough to break into your house and strength to out run the police. There are some robbers and thieves not robbing and stealing because they are homeless and hungry, they are robbing and stealing because they have bad hearts.
Good Men, who find themselves without, will ask for help, ask for work, or do without. In a lot of Cities, some murders occur without thought, and in split seconds of rage. Some people you can send them to prison for twenty years and the first day that they are out of prison, they will commit a crime. “As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.” (Proverbs 26:11)
So you see it is the heart that is at the center of the crime; “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”(Jeremiah 17:9)
If men would allow their hearts to be changed through the power of Jesus, I believe that God would meet all of their needs. “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” (Matthew 6:26).
Our mandate here at Rhema Harvest Ministries is to hold up high the “Blood Stained Banner” that the city might see and hear the voice of Jesus and not another excellent program or another eloquent speaker.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (John 7:37)
Rhema Harvest Ministries understands that the thing that a hard working City needs the most is not material things or more great speakers; the city needs a relationship with Jesus.
Jesus said; “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthews 11:28) So we… Rhema Harvest Ministries present Jesus to the City.
Finally, our fourth mandate is to win this nation. Here in our beloved nation, we have so much more in the way of materials things than our fathers ever had.
With our computers and cell phones, we can send videos, pictures and messages around the world, from anywhere in our nation, in a matter of seconds. Anytime, day or night, we have more than two hundred channels to choose from on our televisions, our cars talk back to us and anything that we thought that we wanted to know; we can find it in seconds on the internet.
We have an amazing amount of abandoned and boarded up homes, yet still, homelessness in this nation is at staggering numbers. Mental illness is at an alarming all time high and the numbers are still climbing and medication is being produced every year to treat the illness.
The lists of incurable diseases keep growing in the most intelligent nation in the world. The Lottery and the Liquor stores are making billions of dollars off of people who say that they have no money. Oh, and the street drugs is like a bad dream that won’t go away, because the demand for them is so great.
Our government tells us that our nation is in a recession, and they say there are no jobs for our graduating children. How can we be in a recession with so much stuff?
I would say all of this sounds like a blessed nation that is slowing turning their hearts from the Most High God. And as a result of such, sin is running loose, unchecked across this nation like a fierce hurricane and is leaving mental and physical destruction in its path. You know the children of Israel complained with a cloud over their head by day and a pillow of fire over their head by night, simply because their sinful heart refused to let them look up and see the Most High God attempting to guide them on their journey.
The bible says; “For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.” (Matthew 13:15)
At Rhema Harvest Ministries, we recognize that our nation is at war with an aged old enemy. It is the same enemy that used his subtle tactic to confuse and misguide man in the Garden of Eden. We here at Rhema Harvest Ministries are teaching the people to pray with their eyes open. We should always study our enemy, even when it appears that they are not attacking us at the moment. The word of God says: “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.”(2 Corinthians 2:11)
Also, we understand that our nation is being attacked, from the inside more-so than from the outside; therefore we at Rhema Harvest are blowing our trumpets and reminding this nation of the Lord our God, in an effort to win this nation. The scripture says; “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the Lord your God and ye shall be saved from your enemies.” (Numbers 10:9)
